At LAS, we plan to develop novel two-dimensional (2-d) nanoporous materials including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), nanoporous graphene and zeolites with a precise control of nanopore size and functionality.  In the next few years, LAS will pursue:

  1. Synthesis for two-dimensional nanoporous materials by atomic layer deposition (ALD), chemical vapor deposition (CVD), hydrothermal synthesis, exfoliation, etc.
  2. Elucidation of crystal growth mechanism.
  3. Study of thin, high throughput membranes and membrane reactors.
  4. Elucidation of transport pathways.
